England claimed third place at the World Cup after a remarkable 10-goal thriller against France, winning 6-4 in one of the most entertaining matches of the tournament.
The Three Lions made a flying start at the Hard Rock Stadium, racing into a four-goal lead before half-time. Declan Rice opened the scoring after just three minutes, before Ezri Konsa added a second. Bukayo Saka then produced a sensational first-half display, scoring twice to give England a commanding advantage.
France responded brilliantly after the break, with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice and Bradley Barcola adding another goal to bring the match back to 4-3 and put England under huge pressure. However, Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot late on before Jude Bellingham scored in stoppage time to finally secure victory.
Despite missing out on the final, England finished their World Cup campaign with a memorable performance, while France showed incredible fighting spirit in a dramatic contest that will be remembered as one of the highest-scoring knockout matches in World Cup history.
